1010. Young people just can be great!

Teacher B said to teacher A, “Youth is the age of ideals. Youngsters are not conformists: they wish to change the world.

We teachers should take advantage of this to propose to them big and small things: to visit an old marriage that nobody cares of, to study hard, to change society – unfair things -, to help their classmates, to invest their energies to help other people – like vagabonds, to help others to leave drugs, to raise their nation, to donate themselves to great ideals such as re-christianizing society…

Adolescents are not necessarily troublesome – think of the World Youth Day of 2012 when about two million young people gathered together, around Benedict XVI: young people there bore a ferocious storm in mid-August, which is a very, very, very strange thing - raining in August in Madrid.

Young people are not only the ones that get drunkards on the weekends: if you take adolescents one by one and propose to them great ideals, likely they’ll respond positively.

I think now the western society is drowning in its own economic crisis. Values and virtues lack in the western society, at least in the vast majority. Who can give values? Jesus Christ, and, in His name, the Church. I believe so.” / Photo from: nwfdailynews com. kids doing good things
